Happy Birthday Ms Ruby Mercedes
Sunday, Domingo 2/9/2020, first Super Moon of the year and my mother’s 100 yr Birthday. As we bend our knees, meditate, pour libation, attend to shrines, sing, dance, pray or just sit in a place of quiet surrender to spirit .... let’s remember to thank God for our parents and loved ones as we draw strength from their example of courage, persistence and endurance. For those of you who may or may not know my mother Ms Ruby Mercedes Aiken Ruddock- Roach-Allen has lived on this earth overcoming many challenges and has used them as stepping stones to her greatness and wonderful example of how to be fabulous at whatever age
Born in the Republic of Panama 🇵🇦 of African Jamaican ancestry from parents who like many from the Caribbean, migrated as laborers for the building of the Panamá Canal. She is a vibrant survivor of cancer over 25 yrs, knee replacements, back surgery 2 years ago and today she only takes vitamins, fish oil capsules and the occasional pain pill for arthritis in her shoulders. Non the less she continues to love high heel shoes, fine clothes ( loves linen) expensive perfumes, anti-wrinkle creams, lipstick, salsa music, smoothies, steam veggies, a good gossip story, her Judge Judy shows and doing her coloring and passwords. She spends a lot of time praying and speaking to some of her young and old friends. I just wanted to share a little about this wonderful lady who always prayed that she would live long enough to see her 3 children grown up and not have the experience she had do her mother passing when she was 6 months old . Thank you ancestors, God and my grandmother who I never met (Ida Ruddock of Westmorland Jamaica) I thank you for letting me have this fabulous lady as my mother. She has 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Thank you all for you happy birthday wishes I will share them all with her. Today she is dressed up in hells. LOL
