Blessed New Month Of April as we celebrate Earth Day and Ogun’s month
Blessed New Month of April my friend
Earth Day April 22,2020
Who would have thought that 50 years ago some of us saw the devastation of our planet on the horizon coming to haunt us and now we are facing the consequences today. The negligence, greed, ignorance, and irresponsibility to love and care for our beloved Mother Earth is painful, sad and horrific on so many levels.
On April 22, 1970, 20 million Americans — 10% of the U.S. population at the time, myself included — took to the streets, college campuses and hundreds of cities to protest environmental ignorance and demand a new way forward for our planet.
The first Earth Day is credited with launching the modern environmental movement and is now recognized as the planet’s largest civic event. On Earth Day 2020 we have two crisis One is the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. The other is a slowly building disaster for our climate. We can and will overcome these challenges by each one of us taking responsibility to change our current behavior and lack of commitment to the healing of our planet. The world was not prepared for the novel coronavirus. But we still have time to prepare in every part of the world for the climate crisis. The Coronavirus pandemic does not shut us down, instead, it reminds us what's at stake in the fight for our planet. Who will you be, have and do after this Universal Time Out .
