Fall 2011 Self Empowerment workshop (SEW) Class

The International Institute of Afrikan Studies & Knowledge, Inc. (IIASK, Inc.) offers a series of classes on African Spirituality titled the Self Empowerment Workshop (SEW). These classes are a pre-requisite for attending the SEW Retreat aka Adult Rites of Passage, see page 2 for details.

Wednesday, September 7th 7-9 p.m. EST or Saturday, September 17th 10 – 12 noon
Introduction to African Spirituality — Designed to introduce the participant to spirituality from an African conceptual basis.

Wed. September 21st from 7—9 p.m. EST or Sat., October 1st from 10 – 12 noon EST
Introduction to Ritual & Ceremony – Discover the power and use of healing practices and ceremonies for personal development and community healing.

Wed., October 5th from 7—9 p.m. EST or Sat., October 15th from 10 –12 noon EST
Introduction to Ancestor Reverence — An introduction to the power of your ancestors (your personal guides & angels) and the value of communicating with them.

Wed., October 19th from 7—9 p.m. EST or Sat., October 29th from 10 –12 noon EST
Introduction to Coconut (Obi) Divination — An introduction to coconut shell divination as a tool for gaining insight by communicating with your spirit guides.

Wed., November 2nd from 7—9 p.m. EST or Sat., November 12th from 10 –12 noon EST
Introduction to Meditation — An introduction to the practice of raising one’s consciousness for the purpose of achieving self mastery.

Wed., November 16th from 7—9 p.m. EST or Sat., December 3rd from 10 –12 noon EST
Introduction to Spiritual Cosmologics — An introduction to the understanding of who we are as human beings, who and what God is, and the plan used to guide individuals to their true destinies here on earth.

Wed., December 7th 7—9 p.m. EST or Sat., December 17th from 10 –12 noon EST
Journaling as a Tool for spiritual Growth Part 1 — Learn how journaling can increase the understanding of your daily life experiences and dreams by enhancing your ability to reflect on your personal journey.

Choose the classes you wish to take or enroll for the entire series. Contact us if this schedule does not meet your needs.
Tuition: Individual classes are $45.00 each. Register for all 7 classes and receive a discount of $35.00 for a total of $245.00 for the series. Each class is 2 hours.

The Self Empowerment Workshop (SEW) Retreat

The Self Empowerment Workshop (SEW) is a six day intensive retreat for adults filled with ancient rituals of possession of one’s guardian spirits, protective guides, and ancestors facilitated by Iyalode Yeyefini Efunbolade and her trained priests and mediums. The initiate will be impacted and their life choice process considerably changed by uncovering many of the spiritual, emotional, and psychological blocks that have dis-empowered, angered, and sometimes immobilized them. Facing these issues and using rituals to transcend some of the trauma inherited from the enslavement of Africans in the Diaspora such as molestation, rape, abuse, neglect, and abandonment has helped many be more successful in their lives.

Fall Tele Classes with Iyalode Yeyefini Efunbolade

We’re excited to have Iyalode Yeyefini on the teaching circuit again. Each class will be 1 1/2 hours with a question & answer period. Classes are open to the public sign up early space is limited.

Class 1 Sunday, September 11, 2011 3- 5 p.m.
Mediumship. Recognizing and enhancing your life through the vehicle of your guardian spirit. What does it mean to be a medium?

Class 2 Sunday, October 9, 2011 2-4 p.m.
Mapping Your Path. Acquire the skills to overcome many of life’s oppositions and challenges.

Class 3 Sunday, November 13, 2011 2-4 p.m.
Is the God in You or In the Pot of Sacred Stones. This class will help you acknowledge the ashe/power you were born with.

Registration fee is $25.00 per class. Advanced registration required. Register for all 3 classes at once and receive a $5.00 discount on the total. The teleconference number and code will be sent to you upon receipt of your paid registration.
