Meaningful Monday – February 1, 2010

As we enter into the second month of the year dedicated to Love, Black History, and past Presidents, we can look back in amazement, sadness, and thanksgiving for what we have shared and experienced for the month of January.

It seems like the New Year celebration came in with great expectations, resolutions, and happiness.  However the tragedy in Haiti caused us to come together under different circumstances. We were shocked, horrified, and moved; then took some kind of action.  Millions sent  money, thousands sent articles and medical supplies, and hundreds went in person to lend a hand.

As we begin our plans for the upcoming celebrations for February, let’s continue to have great expectations, resolutions and happiness:

1) Let’s do whatever and all we can on a consistent basis to meet the EXPECTATIONS of God and the people of Haiti from us, even when the “hype” is over.
2) Let’s RESOLVE to always use love as the driving force of our actions NOT FEAR.
3) Let’s find HAPPINESS in our own lives for the home, bed, food, friends, family, clean water, clean air, and medicines that we have readily accessible to us.

For the month of February as we focus on Love & sacrifices that make The United States of America a great nation and the many African Americans who contributed to its greatness, let’s remember that each of us has the choice, the ability, and the responsibility to re-commit in making this world a better place for ourselves, each other, and our decedents.

Have a Love-filled Meaningful Monday.
